“His audit results are always excellent and consistent, regularly exceeding targets.”
Tell us when and why you joined Claims Consortium Adjusting?
I am Somerset born and bred – I grew up in Yeovil and Taunton, and went to Exeter University to study Classics. I joined Claims Consortium Group in late 2013 at the back end of the floods from 2012 and progressed from a temp, to Claims Negotiator in complex loss team, to team leader. I left in late 2015 to work for a local insurance broker to expand my knowledge of all classes of insurance and then came back in 2018 when Claims Consortium Adjusting was formed. I progressed from Desk Adjuster to Field Adjuster in August 2020 and have been working in this new role since.
What have you achieved through the Adjuster Academy?
I have obtained my Diploma in Chartered Institute of Loss Adjuster sand was able to benefit from the company’s own tailored technical buildings course, to expand my knowledge of construction. This has helped me to progress from Desk to Field Adjuster. I have also completed my Evolve technical bade which has awarded me with a salary increase.
What are you working on right now or hoping to achieve soon?
I have been in my new role for five months and have passed my immediate probation for the role. I am now very comfortable in my new job and am looking forward to developing my skills further over the next couple of years. I am currently working towards my ACII qualification and am a fifth of the way through.
What do you like most about the Adjuster Academy?
I like that I have been entrusted to look after major losses by my management and I have access to projects to improve myself in my current role. There is always the concern that this could lead to errors through inexperience, but this is avoided and complemented by having the right people around me to support decision making and give our insurer clients confidence in our abilities.
What advice would you give to future participants?
Don’t be scared to speak to anyone you work with, regardless of how small the matter and what level of management they sit at. The culture at Claims Consortium Adjusting is that everyone is approachable and looking to achieve the same goals to ensure we are a force to be reckoned with in the adjusting world.
